To: All members of the St Joseph’s Rush School Community
I am delighted to announce that the acquisition of the circa 12.94 acre reserved school site at Kenure, Rush, Co. Dublin, by the Department of Education and Skills, has been completed.
The site will act as the permanent location for both St Joseph’s Rush and Gael Scoil Ros Eo as a campus arrangement.
The building project can now progress to architectural planning stage.
Many thanks to the Parents Association, the Rush Stands Up, students and all those who worked with the Board of Management in delivering this project for the young people of Rush.
Yours faithfully,
Dr James Reilly

Update RE new School Site, from Board of Management Chairperson, Dr James Reilly.
Dear All, it has been confirmed by Minister for Education, Joe McHugh TD that he is prioritising a new secondary school for Rush in the form of a new build/relocation of St Joseph’s Secondary School from Convent Lane to a new location in Kenure, close to St Maurs GAA grounds.
Progress of the new school is moving apace as Minister Joe McHugh and his Department confirmed to me today that they are currently preparing a Project Brief for the secondary school in Rush. The Project Brief will be prepared in tandem with the agreed site purchase of lands at Park Road in Rush. This is wonderful news as it demonstrates that the new school project is progressing rapidly. As you may know, the legal process to acquire the designated 4.8 hectares (12 Acres) of land for the new secondary school and indeed a new school for Gaelscoil Ros Eo on the same campus site, is nearing completion.
I am also pleased to announce that Minister Joe McHugh TD and his department are prioritising St Josephs Secondary School for a new replacement, state of the art modern school building, with up to date NZEB energy rating design, to serve the people of Rush. I wish to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in the Rush Stands Up campaign for playing their part in the progress of this project so far.
Dr James Reilly
