Cycle Against Suicide 2019/2020
As a Cycle Against Suicide Ambassador school we fully believe the CAS message that:
"By not raising awareness of the realities of mental illness, we are creating untenable situations for those who then need to seek help. We understand this reality intuitively, and there are many people who would like to do something but are unsure what."
During our school go orange day we believe that it is important our younger students are questioning why we wear the colour orange this gives us an opening to very important dialogue about mental health. This year we posted positive notes for students to take, had orange festival face painting happening in our hall, the TYs cycled their hearts out for the full school day and the 1st year students joined TYs in a flash mob at break time!
There was a great buzz around the school and the important message of "It's ok not to be ok and it is absolutely ok to ask for help" was promoted, encouraged and lived by our TY ambassadors.
Well done to Ms Dunleavy and all the TY students involved in the day.
