The Board of Management is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Daragh Nealon to the role of Principal; he will take up his position on the retirement of Ms Patricia Hayden on April 12, 2021.
Mr Nealon joined the staff of St Joseph's in 2007 as the guidance counsellor. He has held many important positions in the school including College For Every Student coordinator, Year Head, and Student Support Team Coordinator. With the expansion of the school due to increased enrolment, he joined the senior leadership team as Deputy Principal in 2017.
Mr Nealon's initial qualification was as a Business teacher and he subsequently undertook postgraduate studies in guidance counselling and a Masters in Education Leadership. Mr Nealon is a Project Lead for the Trinity Access Programme and has presented on developing a college-going culture on national and international forums.
Mr Nealon takes over at a vibrant time for St Joseph's when plans are advanced to move to a new school campus in the next two years and he carries the good wishes of the entire school community as he undertakes this challenging and rewarding role.
